The Hampton Class has been active on the Chesapeake Bay for over 85 years. It boasts a rich tradition of both spirited competition and lifelong friendships.
It is a testament to the wonderful design of the Hampton and to good management by the class's leadership that older boats compete successfully with their wooden and fiberglass sisters and that sailors return season after season to test their racing skills.
THE PEOPLE
Undoubtedly, one of the best parts...
We've always been known as a close group that likes to have fun - sometimes beyond reason, both on and off the racecourse. While you might say we have settled down a bit from the 'heady days', we are still very close as friends and competitors and we do still come up with a good practical joke from time to time! There is a great community surrounding the Hampton Class - complete with a proud tradition of high spirits on the high seas. Thankfully, because of their desire for top-level competition at the front of our fleet, there is also a group of highly talented sailors amongst us as well.
Whether you are a married couple looking for a great weekend outlet, a young 'hot-shot' with his sites on the Olympics (yes, former Olympic sailors have trained with us), or you are looking to find a one design class with a rich history and lot of tradition, we probably have what you are looking for. If you are a skipper needing crew, or crew needing a skipper; we also hope you will take advantage of the new tools we have provided to exchange information!
