Hampton One Design, Hull number #33 is restored and is in beautiful condition. Boat was built by Vincent Serio. The first Hampton (#1) was built in 1934, and my boat #33 was built in 1936-37. Completely restored in 1990s by a boat yard in Norfolk. Sails are ca. 1995 made by Dan Winters, Hampton VA and are in very good condition, but have some minor mold discoloration. Original owner (Robert Schell) raced her out of Norfolk for many years, but I don’t have any history and I have not raced her. Boat is complete, with all spars, rudder, rigging etc in beautiful condition. The 18’ trailer is manufactured by Long Trailer (Tarboro NC) and is in excellent condition. Boat has been stored indoors. Pictures worth more than words. (email webmaster to receive all photos via email)

I would like to sell her, as I now live in Mass. I can’t race her here and simply don’t have access to good situation to enjoy the boat.

More pictures available upon request.

Boats at the Waterman's Museum in Yorktown- for sale

At the Watermen's Museum, Yorktown two HODs in their boat yard.  They were donated to the museum recently.  They are both wooden hulls, one is blue and the other yellow.   We don't know the hull numbers, but the volunteer  said the yellow one came from MD and won a lot of races back in its day.

The museum will be selling them to benefit their programs.  If you are interested in finding out more information, please contact the Watermen's Museum Executive Director David H. Niebuhr at 757-887-2641.

New plywood deck and combings installed by David Judson in 2003. In water few times in recent years due to birth of second child. Stored under cover or in garage throughout ownership. Includes two rudders & tillers, two suits of sails, new mast & boom, mast ram, Trailex aluminum trailer.  Notoriously fast boat with a rich history. Hull, trailer, mast, and boom are worth a solid offer to Keith - this boat is one of a kind and deserves a thorough restoration! Located in Newport News.

The boat has fiberglass over the sides & bottom and appears to be OK; the boat does not leak. The last time I sailed her was in the fall of 2008, it's so much fun! The wooden mast has two cracks and will need repair, but the wooden boom is excellent. I purchased a 23' aluminum mast & boom and is what I used. The boat still could use a little work, but it's a great boat and a real piece of Hampton One Design History!!! See pictures on Craigslist-Hampton Roads,Va. for June 3rd listed as"Hampton One Sail Boat". I am sad to say that I am no longer able to handle the boat as I was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy about 9 months ago.
Hopefully someone can get her back in the water soon.
Call for more info.
