Join a Class Committee!

Volunteer for one of our three committees and help guide important decisions for the Hampton One Design Class.

Hampton Sailors,

We’re looking for class members to get involved and help shape a few important areas of Hampton One Design racing. Three committees are being formed to take a closer look at specific topics and provide recommendations to the Class. Whether you’ve been sailing Hamptons for years or are newer to the fleet, we’d love to have your input.

Life Jacket Committee

Help review the Hampton One Design Class life jacket requirements and explore options that balance safety, comfort, and practicality while racing. The committee will make recommendations to the Class on any potential updates to the current requirements.

Wind Min/Max Committee

Help review the minimum and maximum wind limits for Hampton One Design racing and consider what conditions are appropriate for the Class. The committee will work toward recommendations that balance fair competition, safety, and keeping boats on the racecourse whenever conditions allow.

High Point Committee

Work in collaboration with Charlie McCoy to review the Hampton One Design High Point scoring system and explore ways to encourage participation and reward consistent racing throughout the season. The committee will help develop recommendations for the future of the High Point competition.
